The joint exhibition ”Do you see what I see? Complementary views of the Wilderness”, featuring the works of Eileen and Tim Brown, opens at Sharp Edge Gallery, Keswick, on Saturday 24th August and runs until Saturday 27th September 2011.

Eileen and Tim have known each other a long time and have a strong admiration for each other’s work, although their styles are very different indeed. They are motivated by the same feelings about the timeless strength and power of the Cumbrian landscape, but Tim’s paintings are large dramatic textural compositions whereas Eileen works with fine brushes and glazes and concentrates on light effects on the hills and water.

As part of the exhibition they have decided to set themselves a challenge. They want to try to paint one piece in the style of the other and are curious about what they might produce.
